The Rio Tinto WA Future Fund is professionally managed by a team of two staff. Fund staff provide advice and guidance about the potential suitability of new projects for the Fund and work with existing Fund partners to establish, evaluate, enhance and review its partnerships.

Megan Crust, Manager Community Investment (including Future Fund)

Megan Crust was appointed Manager Community Investment in November 2006. She was previously responsible for internal communications for Rio Tinto Iron Ore. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Megan spent eight years at the Water Corporation where she had a number of roles in the areas of marketing and sponsorship, issues management and community consultation.

Megan currently replaces Robyn Sermon as Manager Community Investment while Robyn is on parental leave.

Robyn Sermon joined the Future Fund in July 2005. Robyn has more than twelve years’ experience in government, media and community relations, most recently working with Comalco in Gladstone (Queensland) and managing the Comalco Community Fund. Robyn has also worked as an Advisor to a Federal Minister and began her career as a community based journalist in Western Australia.

She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of WA and a post graduate diploma in Journalism from Murdoch University. Robyn is currently on parental leave.

 

 
   

Laurie Ball, Advisor Community Investment (including Future Fund)

Laurie Ball joined the Community Investment team as an advisor in April 2006. She was previously employed for two years as a Marketing Consultant with Curtin University of Technology and later acted as University Marketing Manager. Laurie has also worked in Community Affairs at the UK’s largest private medical insurance company, BUPA.
