How to Apply

Before applying for funding, applicants are encouraged to read all Future Fund publications and make a preliminary assessment about the potential suitability of their project for the Fund.

To apply for funding, potential partners must write a two to three page application adressing the following criteria:

Project details

A summary of the project, including a timeline
Expected outcomes of the project
Who will benefit from the project
How the project will be managed

Sustainability

How the need for the project was identified, including any community consultation, studies or previous projects
How the project provides long term solutions not already available in WA
How the project is sustainable beyond the support of Rio Tinto

Funding

Total project budget
Funds sought from Rio Tinto
Other sources of funding sought, eg government
The value of any in-kind support

Evaluation and Reporting

How the outcomes of the project will be measured
How the project will be communicated to the wider community
How the project will be a partnership with Rio Tinto

Review procedure

Applications will be reviewed within one month of being received and applicants will be notified by mail. Applicants whose submission is being progressed will be contacted by the Manager Community Investment to discuss the project in detail.
