Selection Process

The Future Fund concentrates its resources on providing significant support to a limited number of innovative, long-term partnership programs that demonstrate the most potential to contribute to the future of WA.

Applications for funding are sent to the Manager Community Investment and reviewed by the Board. Applications are assessed against the criteria set out on the How to Apply page of this website, and with respect to their strategic and geographic fit with Rio Tinto. The Future Fund is also proactive in seeking out partners and programs that will assist the Fund to achieve its objectives.

Applications will be reviewed within one month of being received and applicants will be notified by mail. Applicants whose submissions will be progressed will be contacted by the Manager Community Investment to discuss the project in detail.
