
Eligible Partners
The Future Fund would like to hear from organisations with projects that are:
- Large scale, innovative and of state-wide significance
- Suited to funding from more than one partner
- Outcome focused and suited to performance measures
- Able to promote skills development and build community capacity
- Able to work in partnership with Rio Tinto and its WA businesses
The Future Fund is unlikely to fund:
- Projects that primarily focus on capital works
- Private companies seeking finance for their own business activities
- Individuals wanting to finance endeavours solely for personal gain
- Mainstream government services
- Activities and events that have already occured
- One-off events such as conferences or seminars
In general, proposals most suitable for funding are those that offer the potential for a long-term partnership with Rio Tinto and its WA businesses and that:
- Clearly articulate the future benefits and outcomes to WA
- Result in direct and lasting benefits to WA
- Generate benefits to WA that do not presently exist
- Foster the development of skills and innovation within WA
- Contribute sustainable and long-term solutions to problems faced in WA
